Is Your Website Mobile Friendly?

**Latest News Flash** – effective April 21st Google is changing their algorithm to take into account whether or not a website is mobile friendly. What does “mobile friendly” mean? It means, your website should be easy to read and load fast on a smartphone or tablet. Your website should be a readable version compared to what it looks like on a desktop. There are a few options available if you’re website is not mobile friendly: Update or recreate your site using a mobile responsive theme. If your site is on a WordPress platform – add a mobile friendly plugin to change the site look. Consider creating an app for your mobile/website view. Which direction is the best? It depends on your current site and of course budget. Please call us today at (602) 329-1450 or complete the form on the right for more information and to find out how we can help you.... read more

How Do You Market Your Business?

One of the first questions I ask business owners is “what do you want your website to do for you?” This leads to the second most important question,  “how do you market your business?” As you can imagine, the answers are sometimes vague and vary widely. Those answers usually lead to my explanation of “push” and “pull” marketing and why it’s important to understand both when it comes to your website. “Push” marketing is directing people to your website through your business cards, brochures, flyers, and networking. “Pull” marketing is people finding you online with effective SEO through searches or social media. Networking: As a small businesses if you don’t have a budget for SEO and or other online marketing besides handing out your printed marketing materials, networking should be your best friend as well as the most cost effective if done correctly: Practice your 30-60 second business explanation or commercial. Focus on how you help and solve problems through your business service or product. Find a good networking group that focuses on growing each others’ business and not just a social get together. Find other businesses within the group that compliment what you do or provide and work together to find and help clients. Search Engine Optimization: Finding a good SEO company requires some homework on your end and things to consider: Do some research on SEO and make sure you understand the purpose. Ask for referrals and interview at least 2-3 SEO companies. Make sure they understand what you want to accomplish and whether or not your expectations are attainable. Make sure you understand what they do,... read more

Business Owners Should Know 3 Areas of Their Website

As a business owner there are a lot of area’s of your business that you need to know about, remember and keep track of. I find that most business owner’s leave their website details in the hands of their designer. Unfortunately, that’s not always a good thing. Your website is a very important asset of your business and there are 3 areas of your website that are critical for you to know. Domain Information: What company did you use to purchase and register your domain name (example: Godaddy)? Know your login information for the company. When did you purchase your domain name and when does it need to be renewed? Make sure your domain is registered in your name and you are updating your information should anything changes (email address, phone numbers and mailing address). Hosting Plan Information: What company is hosting your website? Is it the same as your domain name company (Godaddy)? Make sure you know when it’s time to renew and don’t let it expire or you could lose your whole website. A separate user name and password is set-up with your hosting plan for either FTP or C-Panel access, make sure you know what they are. Website Platform or Access: Can you make updates to your website or do you need a special program? Some older sites require a special program that your website designer may have and updates are done by your designer. However, now there are a variety of platforms that you can access directly through the internet like WordPress, Wix, Weebly, Webstarts or Godaddy Tonight to name a few. If you can... read more
