It has come to my attention from a few of my clients that they had received an email from a photographer claiming infringement/copyright issues regarding images on their website. This email came in through their contact form on the website. They forwarded the email to me concerned. After some internet searches, I found that a lot of other website owners had received similar emails and discovered it is a “spam or phishing email” with links to a Google Drive file that if clicked on can allow someone to get control of your device.

It is an alarming email and I have included a sample of the email received by a client below. As in every email you receive, always review the content carefully, making sure you know who it’s coming from before clicking on any link included in the email. It’s better to error on the side of caution then to make your device vulnerable.
